Another shot at a proper Monkey King. This one is a little more monkey. But I'm still not happy. Face is too big and not flat enough. Ah well.

Headline DS - "Kaine Sees Rough 2009"

"Kaine Sees Rough 2009" comes from the Examiner for December 31, 2008. Kind of whimsical, but the image of Citizen Kane sitting on Rosebud at the bottom of a HUGE jump popped into my head.

Angry Zen Tubes!

I've been sorely neglecting this little blog but I actually have been drawing quite a bit. I've started doing some sketching on my DS on my way into work and uploading the videos to YouTube. Just hooked up my account to this blog so we'll see if the auto updates work.

Fish Food

This is a shirt idea that never got used so I just put it up myself. You can pick it up over at MySoti. I really like the shrimp's pose. It's like one of those old time boxers. "C'mon, put up yer dukes!"

Monster Tattoo Prototype

I started doodling these guys at Anime USA over the weekend and everyone I showed them to loved em and said I should do a book. So I think I'm going to embark on a long ass journey to see if I can come up with around 200 of these guys for a proper sized art book. Maybe.

Meet Pooter

Throwing this up to every site I can think of. This is a short animation I did to introduce Pooter. Lots of fun. Going to try to do more as time allows. You can see the full resolution version over at Angry Zen Master. I'll probably create some kind of Flash player as I do more of these.

Apollo 7 Animated Comic!

This is pretty cool. I did this animated comic for the Apollo 40th Anniversary site on NASA.gov. It's also playing on NASA TV now! Hooray! I got a comic on TV!

Drawing entirely in Photoshop and Illustrator and animated in After Effects.

Automa, NASA's 50th Anniversary Robot Guide

After months of insane work, we finally launched our interactive celebration of NASA's 50th Anniversary! Lookie, I actually get to do arts at work!

That cute green robot is Automa. I got to design, animate, and voice him for our project. You'll see him everywhere on the piece. I also did the exterior and interior designs of the 60's and 2000's as well as the overall scene matte painting and the future scene.

Had a lot of fun. I think next time, I might try a different style, something more animated than painterly. I hope to pick up a copy either at Otakon or PAX. Can't wait to see the other pieces!

Peelander Z Poster

Whoohoo! This is a poster for my very favorite band, Peelander Z! They're playing a show in Baltimore on September 25 at the Ottobar and I was asked to a poster. So fun.

They took their name from Mazinger Z so I thought I'd throw him into the background there. He's wearing the P-Chan hair helmet.

Messing around with ZBrush 3 finally. Lots of fun, but I have so much more to learn. Thought I'd start off with a little Monkey King action.

Smelling Markers

Tech test of Ustream and a big ass Sharpie marker. I think I might use Ustream for more random video stuffs. Will have to see how it handles uploading something longer than ten minutes to YouTube. Getting things ready for Art Fight.

Pooter in a field. I think his arms get a bit lost in the greenery so I might darken them up a bit. Turned out okay.

Monster Daily Designs Part II

The final four monster designs for AZM. Now onto backgrounds.

Going top left to right to bottom left to right there's Nom Nommie, Fwog Eats Monkey, The Violet Vindicator, and Monster Cutie. Might change some of the names and will probably add some more monsters at a later date. But this will do for now.

This guy was inspired by Daniel Plainview's milkshake speech at the end of There Will Be Blood. I also made a cute shirt with him featured.

RX78 Style

A slightly different take on the whole Gundam Girl thing. I think they're called Tams or something like that. Anyway, I'm going to use her for my "Advanced Cell Shading" demo on Friday. All done in Photoshop. Gotta use baby Cintiq somehow.
